Ice and Ash, Iceland

I am drawn to scenes that hold some subtle mystery in the landscape, an unquiet in the quiet, tension and restlessness evident through patterns, flows, cracks, lines in the earth. These demarcations suggest energy below the surface causing landscapes to shift and change and evolve. The sheer enormity of these forces, whether caused by volcanic gases, lava floes, river currents, or shifts in tectonic plates, create a raw beauty that I find inspiring and haunting.
